Become an apprentice at Total Energy

Each year we look for enthusiastic and positive apprentices to join our Apprenticeship Scheme. Our apprenticeships are designed for those who are interested in becoming a heating engineer.  We also offer office-based opportunities for those who are interested in support services such as an office junior.

What is an apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship combines part-time study with work based employment. At the end of your apprenticeship you will have an industry recognised qualification and more often than not a job offer!

Why choose Total Energy for your apprenticeship?

Total Energy is a well-established local business that has been providing heating and plumbing services for over 25 years to homes and businesses across Dorset, Wiltshire, Somerset and Hampshire.

As an apprentice no two days are the same, you will be primarily assisting our team of heating engineers on a variety of projects covering domestic, commercial and industrial sectors.

You will get to earn a wage, learn new skills and you will also benefit from paid holiday.

Speak to a current apprentice

Josh is in the second year of his apprenticeship with Total Energy Services and we recently asked him some questions about his time here so far…

Why did you want to do a heating and plumbing apprenticeship?

“I did an apprenticeship as I wanted a trade that is highly skilled and that I would enjoy which would always guarantee I had a secure job. I realised university wasn’t for me and that an apprenticeship would be best for me.

I wanted to do a heating and plumbing apprenticeship as people always told me it was a good trade to get into and I was recommended by other heating and plumbing engineers I know.”

Why choose Total Energy to do your apprenticeship?

“The website shows an established company with a good team of engineers and office staff.  When Rob interviewed me I knew it was the company for me”.

The best thing about your apprenticeship at Total Energy?

“The best thing is learning a skilled trade for life, while I am learning I am also enjoying it which is a massive bonus.  I love the massive variation of work and being part of a great team.”

What next?

To be an apprentice you must be 16 years old or more, eligible to work in the UK and not in full-time education.
